All worlds described - Outworlds Alliance 3025

This page brings general information about each mapped world of the OA, being a combination of data from videogames, internet research and sourcebooks. Different sourcebooks are sometimes contradicting and we had to opt for one source or another, always trying to present something consistent and playable.

This is aimed as quick reference material for Battletech boardgame and RPG. A few abandoned systems within the OA borders were added and may not displayed in the map above.

For further information before and beyond 3025, refer to www.sarna.net

Dneiper: once rich tropical world and center of entertainment, it is being under constant attack of pirates from Antallos. A few millions still remain there and the Alliance Military Corps (AMC) built a small military academy that trains personnel to the Planetary Militia and the Mechanized Corps.

Osset: Officially abandoned world between Milligan's World and Prinis Prime. It is a Water Planet with a small portion of land surface. Possible pirate outpost.

Prinis Prime: devastated during the Reunification War, this Earth-like planet has retained a small population that armed themselves to defend against constant raiders attacks without OA support.

Risin: arid but developed world with hundreds of millions of inhabitants. The local government has good relations with the central OA government but rebel groups that reject the presence of AMC started a guerrilla fighting against the OA troops presence. Reports of a possible Lostech cache has been attracting all sorts of treasure hunters and illegal mercenaries

Milligan's World: tropical world heavily destroyed and almost abandoned after the Reunification War. The small population left has little loyalty to OA government and often collaborates with the pirates from Antallos. It retains valuable mineral resources that justify AMC presence there.

Rushaven: this world with a landscape dominated by mudflats was not much impacted by the Reunification War. Its population nears a hundred million, profits from the mining business and is loyal to OA government.

Quantraine: colonized during the First Succession War this once prosperous mining colony had more than most of the population carried off by a plague in 3020. Only 400 survived and became very xenophobic, banning all non-Alliance contact. The fear of the plague prevented any pirate attacks and other visitors.

Brasha: dominated by deserts this scarcely populated world survived the Reunification and Successions Wars unharmed. It is mainly known by its center of Islamic Scholarship that attracts people from other places to there.

Cerberus: this world is covered by forests in a permanent cloud layer due to its slightly high gravity, forcing people to colonize higher grounds above the clouds. Even so this is one of the most industrialized worlds of the OA, being a commerce and travel hub. It also has an important Comstar presence. The second Battalion the Alliance Grenadiers is located in Cerberus but it is often deployed on nearby systems

Coraines: desertic planet with intense volcanic activity with a few millions population dedicated to agriculture and mining. Most of the energy is generated from geothermals that power gigantic domes each one emulating different ecosystems and allowing for the production of rare spices widely exported. It was once an important trading post connecting worlds in the deep periphery that are now abandoned. It hosts the 2nd Battalion of the Alliance Borderers and is in constant action against pirates and raiders there or in other nearby worlds.

Dante: center of the Omniss movement that rejects all non-essential technology. This low gravity planet hosts an exotic hallucinatory vegetation that can be lethal to humans. Their reclusive inhabitants accept being part of OA but remain isolated and distant from Alpheratz. This world hosts no military garrison or even Comstar facilities.

Morthac: once a very developed and industrialized world, it was brutally destroyed during the Reunification War. Its population of billions was reduced to a few millions and many megacities were never rebuilt. These ghost cities still attract treasure hunters looking for Lostech items.

Quiberas: these high gravity world was also heavily destroyed during the Reunification War but kept an important status for its high tech special materials and mining industry. Few hundred millions leave there in relative safety from raiders.

Jordan Wais: industrialized and developed terran world that was less impacted by the Reunification War and well know by its gaming industry (including a famous tabletop game with Battlemechs). Its few hundreds million population enjoys a standard of living comparable to the most developed Inner Sphere worlds. They are permanently protected by a garrison of the Planetary Militia and an Air Wing which discourages pirates attacks.

Dindatari: moderately developed arid world with a population of a few hundreds of millions, Dindatari joined the OA but remains independent besides the commercial relations with the nearby worlds.

Calish II/III: the system has two habitable planets with small populations. Calish II is an artic world with a developed agriculture in its equatorial belt. Calish III is an arid world rich in rare minerals and in constant attack from pirates and raiders require the constant deployment of AMC units as its Planetary Militia garrisons have limited resources to deal with invaders.

Quatre Belle: low gravity world with an exotic ecosystem that attracts rich tourists from the Inner Sphere.

Alegro: tropical world with a specialized industry based on indigenous fungus that recently became target of pirates attacks taking advantage of the weak defense forces.

Lushann: Semi-arctic world rich in oil deposits. Most of the economy depends on the petrochemical  industry, and Lushann is the largest source of petrochemicals in the Outworlds Alliance. The second largest industry is weapons manufacturing, as represented by Lushann Industries. The planet has four continents, Texas, Energia, Evergreen where the capital city Grimandi is located and Hellas. Most of the few hundred thousands population live in underground facilities to protect them against the forbidding temperatures. Those who live on the surface must do so under one of the many domes that protect the larger cities. Since life on Lushann can be bleak, every summer the capital city (Grimaldi) holds MechWarrior games. This is one of the few exceptions to the Alliance's standing policy of forbidding non-Alliance military and paramilitary forces from entering the realm. The industrial and military facilities are protected by heavy gun emplacements and a dedicated Planetary Militia garrison.

Mitchella: artic world that houses important mining and military industries, producing most of the land combat vehicles in the OA. It is the home base for the Alliance Borderers 3rd Battalion.

Alpheratz: Capital of the OA, it is a temperate world with a population of about two billion with important research and industrial facilities. It is the most well defended world in the OA, housing the Avellar Guards and an important contingent of planetary militia but even so is not free from marauding pirates.  The Alliance Defenders Limited is the only BattleMech manufacturer, producing small numbers of WSP-1A Wasps, LCT-1V Locusts and STG-3R Stingers and spare parts for other BattleMech models. The Mountain Wolf BattleMechs factory is also in Alpheratz and recently started the production of Merlin BattleMechs in secrecy.

Rudolpho: high gravity terran world with a population below one million mainly dedicated to mining.

Dreadlord: abandoned rocky world with dangerous hallucinatory vegetation and constantly monitored by the AMC looking pirate activity

Baliggora: artic world with most of the population concentrated in the equatorial belt of the planet. With relatively large population of dozens of millions and a diversified economy, it hosts not only a Comstar facility but also a very active black market in the edge of the deep periphery

Kinkaid II: terran world near the Federated Suns, their few millions inhabitants enjoy standards of leaving similar to the Inner Sphere and is mostly free of intruders.

Ki Zoban: officially abandoned artic world between Sevon, Lushann and Kinkaid. It was an important industrialized system until it was completely devastated during the Reunification War.

Medron:  arid world beyond Kinkaid, once part of OA and later incorporated to the Draconis Combine, it was abandoned during the Sucession Wars. It was place of large battles during the Star League Era attracting treasure hunters.

Wittington: tropical world near Medron was part of Draconis Combine and for a short period during the Second Succession War was annexed to the Federated Sun before being abandoned

Sevon: about one hundred million inhabitants descend from the survivors of the massive destruction during the Reunification War. This world joined the OA but remains very independent. The Alliance Mining and Geology produces armor for Aerospace fighter and combat vehicles. The Alliance Motors Limited produces heavy combustion engines (ICEs) for combat vehicles and also produces limited numbers of IndustrialMechs that utilize the same engines. The local planetary militia is officially part of the AMC but it is independently trained and equipped. The world also is the home base of the Alliance Grenadiers 1st Battalion but poor collaboration between them and the planetary militia is a major issue in the planetary defense.

Banori: arid and primitive world castigated by planetary size dust storms that hosts a small black market and is a common destination of pirates and smugglers, hosting no permanent militia forces.

Loparri: terran world with a population close one hundred million and well developed industry and mining sectors. The good relations with the OA government resulted in a well prepared Planetary Militia stationed in the planet discouraging intruders.

Dralkig: located between Lopari and Ramora, it is a stormy artic world, sparsely populated during the Star League Era and later abandoned. Pirates and raids frequently use this system as outpost for their attacks to Ramora and other planets.

Praxton: this arid world with a small population and rich in minerals is the only industrialized planet in the OA not located near the center of Alliance space. The valuable fusion engines built there and the short transit time from the system's jump point make Praxton a prime target for Periphery raiders. The standing orders of the units stationed here forbid the troops to go to the aid of nearby worlds under attack. Pirates in the area try to decoy the defenders of the Praxton factories away with diversionary raids on the neighboring worlds, but the power plants produced by Praxton Fusion are simply too valuable to endanger. Praxton Fusion Products Limited is a legacy manufacturing facility from Star League times, producing small numbers of Nissan Fusion Engines rated 120, 160, 175, 180 and 200. Permanently protected by AeroSpace fighters and the Planetary Militia.

Trimaldix: rocky world with a thin atmosphere has a tiny population dedicated to uranium mining besides a active black market.

Ferris: arid and primitive world with a small AMC academy that also is responsible to defend this and nearby worlds from frequent pirate raids. Many young man and woman see in the military career a possibility to escape from the poverty of this planet and relocate elsewhere.

Raldamax: agrarian world that received refugees from other worlds during the Reunification War and embraced the Omniss movement. It remains demilitarized

Crestoblus: moderately populated and loyal to the OA, it has an important mining industry and strong commerce with the main OA worlds and also the nearby Federated Suns.

Dormandaine: rich agricultural terran world. Most of the inhabitants raised herd animals, and were members of the Gregorian Creed. This creed held that multiple marriages were necessary to repopulate the damaged Outworlds Alliance worlds.

Ramora: A warm, semi-tropical world, in 3025 Ramora was host to one of the two United Outworlders Corporation major factories and is a prime target for raiders and pirates. The UOC factory on Ramora manufactured the LTN-G15 Lightning and the SYD-21 Seydlitz fighters, VTOLs, and also machine guns. Between the joint Draconis Combine/Outworlds Alliance AeroSpace Fighter project running through the UOC factory and the other weapons factories and facilities located on this world, Ramora was the site of the largest weapons producing facility in the Outworlds Alliance in 3025. Up to 15,000 technicians and specialists worked on Ramora at the time, and Ramora was the engineering site for space parts and machinery vital to the long-term defense of the OA. In addition to its importance to the OA as a military production world, Ramora is also the nexus of the Taoist faith within the Alliance as well as being the birthplace of Herodias Ap Gwynn, founder of the Pan-Humanist faith, although Taoism remains the dominant faith on Ramora. It also hosts the Alliance Borderers 1st Batallion.

Mishkadrill: artic world barely habitable hosts a surprisingly rich but reclusive small population.

Tellman IV: icy world with a single mining outpost counting on a small Planetary Militia unit for their defense

Ugland: rocky and high gravity world with no official record of permanent inhabitants

Toten: Toten was colonized at some time during the Star League era after the end of the Reunification War. During that time, it was found to have an asteroid field rich in germanium, a resource critical to the construction of JumpShips. Toten was vanished from maps during the Third Succession War, indicating that the system had been abandoned, depopulated, or rendered too insignificant to merit further recording.

Jeppens: arid world almost abandoned during the Succession Wars and not considered part of the OA.

Valasha: During the final years of the Star League, the Valasha system was a key entry point to the Outworlds Alliance with significant Comstar presence. With its high energy star, multiple jumpships as well as cargo transfer and recharge stations could be found at both of Valasha's main jump points. Besides many arid wastelands, their more than a hundred million inhabitants managed to build up a prosperous agriculture and aquaculture, besides a strong local industry. Valasha is known as a rich mining world with heavy metals. The presence of which aided the civilian fission power plants produced on world, including fusion engines for the IndustrialMechs produced in Sevon.
Very independent from the OA, it has a very active black market but is not free from pirate raids that take advantage of the poor defenses of this world. Recently an agreement was reached to place one Air Wing of the 3rd Regiment in this system and the local militia now serve under the AMC control.
