Planetary Garrison is part of the Planetary Militia organization and the last ditch of defense of most worlds within the Outworlds Alliance.
Mainly formed by infantry formations with few attached combat vehicles it has limited mobility but it is able perform defensive roles very efficiently.
A Standard Planetary Militia Battalion makes extensive use of motorized infantry with towed autocannons:
1st company: 3 x Motorized infantry platoon with 3 AC/5s (28 men, 238 BV2 each)
2nd company: 3 x Motorized infantry platoon with 2 AC/20s (28 men, 338 BV2 each)
3rd company: 3 x Motorized infantry platoon with auto rifles only (28 men, 81 BV2 each)
The Battalion is usually supported by two LRM Carriers (816 BV2 each). In some cases, they can be replaced by SRM Carriers or reinforced by additional vehicles (up to a lance of four). Scorpions, Strikers, Hetzers and armed Heavy APCs are the more common choices.
With 2 LRM Carriers, the total BV2 is 3,603 and can be a serious treat to a lance size of Battlemechs. The infantry is trained to act as spotters for the LRM Carriers while in indirect fire.
A second formation is used to protect less important targets and it is called Light Garrison Battalion:
1st company: 2 x Motorized infantry platoon with 3 AC/5s (28 men, 238 BV2 each) plus 1 x Motorized infantry platoon with 2 AC/20s (28 men, 338 BV2 each)
2nd company: 3 x Foot infantry platoon with auto rifles only (28 men, 61 BV2 each), transported in unarmored trucks (5 tons with 3 ton cargo space, no armor, wheeled, 9/14 movement, 12 BV each)
3rd support lance: 2x Flatbed Trucks armed with LRMs (215 BV2 each) and 2x Flatbed Trucks armed with SRMs (217 BV2 each)
Total BV: 1,897
It is not uncommon to find these battalions missing field guns or Flatbed Trucks, which are replaced with whatever is available, including heavier combat vehicles.

Record Sheet
The Flatbed Truck with SRMs has 3 forward firing SRM2s with one ton of ammo, same armor but with a heavier engine for 6/9 movement allowing it to perform recon and counterattack missions:
Flatbed truck SRM - record sheet
The 5ton truck is used to transport foot infantry platoons and actually represent a generic vehicle that can be found in different models which does not affect gameplay.
It is is fast (9/14) but totally unarmored and unarmed with a single point of internal structure (so any damage destroys it) but it is a cheap and fast transport for infantry. In case of combat, it will disembark the infantry as fast as possible and retreat or look for full cover.
It is unnecessary to use a record sheet to play it but you can find it below:
Light truck 5 tons - record sheet
Note: due to the shortage of autocannons, you may find the above platoons replaced by small squads armed with one AC/5 or full platoons also armed with single AC/5 or AC/20s (see the record sheets in the Towed Autocannon post). A second possibility is the use of obsolete Rifle canon (Tactical Operations, page 338). The development of a Light AC/20 with only 9 tons is unconfirmed (see MegamekLab app for complete stats).
